Market Update - October 2005
It has been a very busy summer for a number of not-for-profits
throughout the United States and Canada. Here are some updates on
projects that are in the process of selling sponsorships in an effort
to create their game board.
Ready to Launch
A number of projects are ready to launch this fall and it is with wild
anticipation, that Help On Board (HOB) proudly recognizes the following:
Waukesha On Board leads the fall launch season and will benefit
two not-for-profit organizations. Healthy Families and the Up
Connection worked together to make this fundraising opportunity
a success. Congratulations to all involved and the games were shipped for their September 28th launch.
Rochester On Board launched on October 1st. Benefiting
the Women’s Community Shelter, this group did an outstanding job
and introduced media in the form of bathroom stall advertising, for
the very first time in HOB history.
St. Joseph On Board, benefiting
the Second Harvest Food Bank is the first HOB partner to qualify
for the incentive of $1.00 off per game by selling sponsorship
out before the proposed time line. Not only that, they increased
their initial game order by 1,500 units as a result of pre-selling
over 1,000 games. We can’t wait to see the results after their
game launches on October 15th.
After a longer than expected
sponsorship selling phase, Rockford On Board will launch on
October 15th benefiting Comprehensive Community Solutions.
HOB would like to acknowledge Kerry Knodle and Debbie York
for their commitment to this project.
Kalamazoo On Board to
benefit the YWCA also qualified for the $1.00 discount and will be
launching in the fall.

Fall Re-launches
It is very common when an “On Board” game is launched in the
spring or summer to conduct a re-launch in the fall. It is the
experience of many HOB projects, that the spring/summer launch
captures an audience of tourists and visiting friends and relatives.
The fall re-launch is specifically directed to the community market
to accommodate Christmas sales. The following communities will
be re-launching this fall:
Battle Creek On Board – Habitat for Humanity;
Janesville On Board – Boys and Girls Club;
Racine On Board – American Red Cross; and
Greeley On Board – Boys and Girls Club.
Canadian News
HOB is working with a number of groups on the east coast of
Canada.
Prince Edward Island On Board has been selling through the summer
to accommodate a tremendous number of tourists who visit this
beautiful area. With proceeds going to Junior Achievement, PEI is
expected to sell out before Christmas.
The Resoucre Centre for
Youth in Saint. John has been busy creating Greater Saint John
On Board. This will be the fifth project on the east coast of Canada
and HOB and all of its partners are grateful to Sobey’s for their
overwhelming support, having been the sole retailer in all markets.
The Progress Club will benefit from Moncton On Board who has
been working hard addressing the sponsorship selling phase.
Newfoundland and Labrador On Board is the first provincial game
on the east coast and is being conducted by the Boys and Girls
Club who benefited from St. John’s On Board in 2003 – 2004. This
group placed a re-order to accommodate the swift sales and is
expected to make this project an equal success.
Yukon On Board which will benefit the Whitehorse Chamber
of Commerce, launched on September 1st. We congratulate
Rick Karp for his exceptional leadership and unique ideas that
made this game so reflective of this beautiful area of
Canada.
Led by Henry Clarke, Peterborough & Area On Board
which will benefit Community Housing Development Corporation
continues their sponsorship selling phase. Plagued by floods in
2004, nothing would stop this group and we acknowledge their
commitment to this project.
Been There … Done That
As HOB takes a moment to look at what we have achieved as a
new company, we are proud to provide a list of causes that we
have helped in our short history. We are constantly developing
new ideas so we can continue to help the not-for-profits who
benefited from our fund raising platform. This will hopefully answer
the questions of …What do you have for us now?
